See How Quarantine Challenged This Plant Mom To Crossover From Fake Plants To The Real Deal

It’s no question, quarantine brought out a sides of us that we didn’t know existed. Jerra share how quarantine brought out the plant mom in her. Here’s her story….

What does being a plant mama do for you? Is it a form of self care? Coping method?

It is definitely a form of self-care. Some of the plants I have naturally purify the air, and it brings me assurance to know that. Also, with no kids in the home, it makes me feel good to know that I’m actually taking care of a living thing & it’s thriving.

What do you love the most about gardening?

I love the challenge it brings me, since I’m new to gardening. I get to research & find out what works, versus what doesn’t work. Gardening also calms me & allows me to pause & smell the roses (no pun intended lol).

What do you dislike the most about gardening?

I dislike clipping and disposing of the occasional dead ends. But, in order for some plants to grow, it is necessary to get rid of dead ends (the same with humans too).

What do you struggle the most with in your garden or gardening in general?

I struggle with knowing which plants require minimal or excessive sunlight. That’s one thing I have to remember. Not all of my plants need direct sunlight everyday.

Tell us something unique and different about you and your garden.

All of my plants have different needs. They range from small to tall, and each one provides a unique form of ambience for me.

Love your website! It is such an inspiration & has motivated my two grandchildren & me to create an edible garden in my back yard. My grandkids live in an apartment building surrounded by concrete & only thought food came from drive-thus & mega grocery stores. They are now learning what real food is & what it should taste like!
You are a true educator and appreciate the sharing of your knowledge about growing food.
