Nia The International Plant Mama And Her Botanical Bungalow
I’m sure one of my favorite things about BGWG is meeting new plant mamas. Nia and I may have fan girl out in each other DMs for hours when we stumbled across each other. I drooled over her boho home she’s turned to an eccentric botanical bungalow & indoor garden and she couldn’t believe BGWG existed. It was just immediate love and positive vibes. I knew that we had to have her here on BGWG to get insight on how she created her green space.
I’ve always been drawn to nature. Whether it’s the trees, ocean, or the sky. I think it’s so beautiful, that it has the ability to bring me to tears with it’s beauty just on the mere fact of how beautiful it is. So I figured why not bring nature indoors in space, my home.
Omg girl! I love being a plant mama! So much so that my husband has banned me from buying anymore plants for the rest of the year. Haha. I can’t tell you the amount of money I’ve spent on plants in the last 7 months. They just bring me so much joy. I love to watch them grow. Once a new leaf grows I always tell myself “I’m a grandma” ! They are my children. I never thought buying a new plant would bring me so much happiness. My hubby makes fun of me for it.
Definitely watching them grow! Just knowing that you nurtured a plant so well that it was able to sprout.
Water days! Only because I have a lot of hanging plants and they have to be removed from their spots to be watered or else I’d have a brunch of water in the couch and carpets from just letting them hang there and drip. Also, some I’ll only be living here for 3 years eventually I would have to hand my plant babies over to new homes.
I struggle with wanting to buy every plant I see. My indoor plants are fairly easy. So not much struggle going on over here. I’m going to start a vegetable garden hopefully next year and maybe I’ll get interviewed again (insert smile here) once its up and running so I can let you guys know more into detail what my gardening struggles are.
Well I’m currently living in Japan. I’m a military wife. I love getting unique plants that are here in Japan! Lots of times people ask me about one specific plant (sugarvine) and they can’t find it. So it’s always cool and interesting to find plants to I haven’t heard of or seen.
Can you believe Nia listed herself as newbie in the gardening game?! It doesn’t look like it at all. I can’t wait to have Nia back once she started her veggie garden!
