5 Tools Every Gardener Should At Least Try Out | Must Have Gardening Tools

Must have gardening tools

Like the next gardener, I don’t need anything else besides my hands and my plants. Nonetheless, there are some gardening tools I’ve learned to love and can’t live without. Whether I’m prepping my veggie garden or watering my indoor plant babies, these next 5 tools are must have gardening tools!

Moisture Meter

This is super cool because it lets you know the level of moisture your plant’s soil is at. You basically just stick the measurement in the soil and allow it to do it’s magic. Why would you want it? Well there are a number of plants that could fall victim to over and/or under watering. It’s tough sometimes trying to determine if you need to water your plant as well. A moisture measurement eliminates the guessing game here.

Pruners

Everyone should own a pair of pruners. Why?!? Every plant has to be pruned at some time and regular scissors don’t do the trick. Pruners are sharper for a clean snip to prevent diseases and more damage to the plant.

Find pruners here.

Hand Shovel

You really don’t see the difference in owning a hand shovel until you try it. I initially used my hands to dig anything I needed to. I was gifted a hand shovel and I noticed how much quicker and efficiently I was able to maneuver my plants.

Find hand shovels here.

Frost Blanket

Frost blankets are a life saver when you run into unexpected cold fronts or anticipate long cold seasons. It provides warmth and the green house effect for your plants you cannot move out of the cold.

Find frost blankets here.

Hose & Sprayer

The day I got a hose and a sprayer I realized that I was watering my 50+ plants all wrong. Once you hit 20+ plants, using a watering can is a bit difficult. I refill my watering can 5 or more times and honestly I’m tired afterwards! A sprayer creates the same watering effect, but a continuous supply of water with a whole lot of convenience and saved time.

Find hose & sprayers here.
