Let’s face it, you will have pests when dealing with houseplants. It happens. A more detail reason why is because we already have uprooted plants out our their natural habitat where natural predators for pests implements a good system of checks and balances. We bring them inside and where they only line of defense against pests is…us.
The key to successfully treating pest is firstly understanding what pest you’re dealing with and understand that pest control requires a systematic approach.
The pest treatment recipe I’m going to share today are best used against soft bodied pests such as spider mites, mealy bugs, thrips, and aphids.
Understanding What You’re Working With
You must have some type of understanding of what type of pest you’re dealing with or you will not be successfully in treating pests. Knowing the pest that is attacking your plant, will position in you to know your form of attack. For example, mealy bugs are found mostly on the stem of the plant where spider mites are typically located on the underside of the leaf with some webbing. Knowing the bug, lets you know where to treat.
Systematic Approach
